Night-time Skincare Routine Blog

by Schmoo Skincare

Did you know that a good skincare routine at night could also help your sleep, which in-turn can boost your immunity?

Having a skincare routine, especially at night, is a great way to wind down for bed. It helps signal to your brain that it's time to shut down. Night-time is the perfect time to help combat the effects of ageing as our skin cells rejuvenate overnight whilst you are resting.

If you're looking to establish a better bedtime and skincare routine - follow the Schmoo '4-Step' guide below...

Step 1 - Cleanse

At night we recommend a nice creamy cleanser to gently remove any dirt, make-up or impurities from the skin. Cleansing will provide a clean canvas so your other products penetrate the skin whilst you are sleeping.

Product recommendation:-

Honey & Oatmeal Cleanser - dry/dehydrated skin.
Vitamin Rich Cleanser - mature skin types
Grapefruit & Tangerine Cleanser - combination/oily skin types.
Lavender & Vanilla Face Wash - very dry/sensitive skin types (eczema/psoriasis)

Step 2- Tone

We recommend you follow the cleansing routine with a splash (Toner), this is a fabulous alternative to toner. All our Splashes have a base of Aloe Vera Leaf Juice, which will effectively calm & tone the skin.

Product recommendation :-

Honey & Oatmeal Splash - dry/dehydrated/sensitive skin types.
Vitamin Rich Splash - mature skin types/redness in the skin.
Grapefruit Splash - dull/combination/oily skin types.

Step 3- Night Oil

Oils are a saving grace for uncomfortable dry skin during the winter months.

We would recommend you apply 2-3 drops of the Apricot & peach Oil over the face & neck, and gently massage.

The treatment oil can also be applied to the ends of the hair, and cuticles/nails to replenish.

Once absorbed overnight your skin will feel plumped and rehydrated, leaving the skin with a lovely dewy glow.

Step 4 - Moisturise

Night-time is an essential time to renew your skin & mind. Moisturising at night will help undo damage caused during the day. Adding a moisturiser before bed will create a softer, hydrated, better looking skin for the next day.

Product recommendation:-

Honey & Oatmeal Moisturiser - dry/dehydrated/ sensitive skin.
Vitamin Rich - mature skin types
Grapefruit & Tangerine - dull oily/combination skin types
Lavender & Vanilla Face & Body Cream - very dry sensitive skin types (Eczema/Psoriasis)
